The tournament is under way! After an early wake up call this morning (4:30 a.m.) and a long drive to the course, I was thrilled to finally tee it up. I carded a 75 today and am pleased with the position I‘m in going into the next two rounds.
I started the morning off with a number of birdies on the front nine and made the turn at two under. The back nine proved to be a little more challenging. I made two great pars on holes ten and eleven, but found myself struggling on twelve. I tripled twelve and followed it up with a double on thirteen. Needless to say I knew that had to be a defining moment in my round. I was proud of the way I fought and finished the remaining five holes. I was able to stay focused and play it one shot at a time. In the end I parred the remaining holes on the back nine to shoot five over.
Tomorrow is looking like another early morning, but I can’t wait. I feel like I left a few putts out there today and am excited to get on the back nine and really see what I’m made of!
I can not thank everyone enough for all the encouraging thoughts and prayers this week. They are MUCH appreciated.
I’ll keep you posted!
I know the best is still to come :) love, support, and prayers from "sweet home" Alabama!
