Round One - Harmony

Good afternoon everyone! I am playing another Suncoast event this week in Harmony Florida. We are playing at Harmony Golf Preserve. The course is in excellent shape for our event this week. The greens are rolling true and the fairways are tight (not half as wet as last week, Thank God!) Today was a beautiful day for golf! The wind picked up at times, but overall the playing conditions were perfect.
I started the day off on number one with a great up and down out of the sand to save par and nearly holed it on the par three third to make birdie. Towards the end of the front nine I let a few birdie attempts slip away and ended with a string of bogeys. I finished out the front nine at 38.
When I made the turn my goal was to stay focused on the present and let it happen, not force it. Even with a bogey on hole ten, I stayed committed and started seeing good things on the remainder of the back nine. I had one double bogey and two birdies coming in. I finished the back nine at one over to shoot 75 for the day.
Overall, I am pleased with today’s round. I have been working very hard on a few things in my swing and was pleased to see a glimpse of where my hard work is taking me.
Again, I am happy with today’s round, but am focused on tomorrow. I tee off at 7:30 tomorrow morning, so needless to say I will be calling it an early night :)
I will keep you posted as tomorrow unfolds.
Thanks for all your prayers and encouraging words this week. For my friends and family back home, I miss you all so much and can’t wait to see you soon!
