Hi everyone! I hope you all were able to relax and enjoy this past holiday weekend with your friends and family. I was definitely missing everyone back home during the holiday as well as my big brother’s birthday (Happy Birthday Bradley, I love you!), but my Florida family made me feel right at home as I volunteered at the local parade and even shot fireworks :)
I’m at Stoneybrook West this week in Winter Garden, Fl. The course is in excellent condition for this week‘s event. Today was a beautiful day for golf in Florida. Blue skies with 100+ degree temperatures to follow!
I shot 76 this morning which was accompanied by one double bogey and only one birdie. The course is set up with quite a few difficult holes; therefore not too many low rounds were posted. Surprisingly, even par was the lowest round carded for the day.
I quickly jumped to two over after four holes. I played the remaining holes on the front nine fairly steady. I made a great save on number nine where I hit my second shot in the water hazard, but was able to get up and down to save par. The back nine was equally as steady, but I still managed to slip in a few goofy shots! I also finished the back nine at two over.
Overall I was pleased with today’s round. I had a game plan and I stuck to it.
I tee off at 8:10 tomorrow morning and am excited to get round two underway! I believe there are improvements to be made on my round today and I’m excited about facing the challenge head on.
I will keep you all posted as tomorrow’s round comes to an end!
